We are home, have been home for quite some time. Thank you all for your sweet thoughts and prayers for my Sophie. She was a trooper.
I was told she couldn't have any food or drink of any sort after midnight. Sophie still wakes up some to nurse in the middle of the night. I was terrified of what I was going to do with a screaming baby if she did wake up. So OF COURSE come 4:30 this morning she woke up. I let her fuss for quite a while, I then went and got her, loved on her, brought her to our bed trying to make her think it was morning, hoping she wouldn't want to nurse. Boy was I wrong! So being the bad patient's mother I am, I gave in and let her but for only a very short period of time!
So we got to the surgery center at 6:20 for our appointment. They asked lots of questions including when was the last time she ate!!! (I planned on lying...see I told you--bad patient's mom) Mark said about an hour ago!!! They looked at us like we were crazy! So I explained to them what happened and they said that we would just have to let the other baby go ahead of us to make sure the milk was all digested.
Finally Sophie goes to sleep in my arms about the time for them to take her back. So they walked us to the waiting room; I played one game of solitaire and started another on my phone and the doctor was already in there. He said she had some fluid in there but didn't think it was infected, so he went ahead and did the tubes, drained the fluid, and gave me some antibiotic drops.
We all came home, slept until noon, and when we woke up we found out that Madalyn pulled one of her front teeth at school! I can't wait to see what she looks like when she gets home!
Again thanks for saying some extra prayers for Sophie today...
