Loraly, Sophie, and Madalyn's Field Day

Madalyn smiled all day long! It is so amazing watching your child have such a wonderful spirit and a happy demeanor! We get told all the time what a wonderful spirit our daughter has! She had such a great day and it was very apparent from the smile on her face!

Boy did I get slapped in the face today!

We went to church this morning. I know for some this is a usual thing for a Sunday morning. Unfortunately we don't make nearly enough like we should. No excuses but with 3 children, when we do go we spend most of our time in the hall calming one child down, in the bathroom, getting a drink, etc. So unfortunately most of the time it is just easier to say--it is not worth the hassle of getting everyone up, dressed, happy, and out the door and to church on time just to spend the entire 1-2 hours in the hall calming, feeding, or getting a fussy baby to sleep!

But boy did the preacher wake me up this morning.

I think God had something to do with me being at church this morning---and my husband.

He was talking about having a 4 year old that is out of control and if you don't get that 4 year old in control they will shortly turn into a 14 year old out of control! I have some serious work ahead of me in this department. Loraly for the most part is great, but boy does she have her moments where I need to really do some working! And I feel horribly guilty for her being out of control. I feel it is my fault she gets this way. Mark and I both tend to overreact and it affects her...

I will be working on this---HARD!

Another slap in the face was when he talked about not bringing your children to church weekly. I grew up going to church every Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night. I don't do this privilege for my children. I need and want to...My husband grew up never going to church. His family still doesn't go. Really sad. They never pray, I don't think I have ever seen a bible in their houses...

Excuses---I have attempted but it is hard. If it isn't for gas money to get them there, then we are tired from the week, or the baby was up all night, or we just have too much to do. I know none of these excuses are good enough.

I am going to try my very hardest to start bringing my children to church at least once a week (not including MDO). They deserve the privilege of getting to know God just like I got when I was a child.

Please help me do this for my children! If you would just leave me an encouraging comment and reminder of getting my children there WEEKLY, it would mean so much to me.

Pray for me...

Loraly has a new song to sing!

We got this CD from church for the girls music camp this summer and we have been listening to it ever since. One of the songs says "Jesus is the one, God's amazing son." Loraly's version says " LORALY is the one!" and if you know anything about Loraly, you know this is just her nature. She is so 'self centered' but most of the time in a good way. But what 4 year olds world isn't centered around just them!
We had dinner out tonight. We saw Lauren and her family there. And something really nice also happened while we were eating: a very VERY sweet older man came up to us and told Mark and I how pretty our family is, and how well mannered our children were behaving! It is always nice to hear this from outsiders because from my point of view going out to eat is like a circus!
Thank you to that sweet man for noticing us!
I want to wish all the mothers a Wonderful Happy Mother's Day tomorrow!

New Tricks EVERYDAY!

Pics

I saw this type picture on someones blog and decided to try it. Let me tell you--Sophie was anything but cooperative! I think the concept is to do this when they are first born, but still it's cute! I love chunky baby feet!
Mark got a new (used) car. And this is what he does about 3-5 times a week!
DRIVES ME CRAZY...

We found these sunglasses the other day. They were Madalyn's when she was a baby. The lenses open and close. Adorable!

Sophie playing with her feet...with her sleepy eyes.
Another new sleeping position!

A little something about Sophie---she is loving herself in the mirror, reflection, anywhere she can see an image of a baby!
She has also learned to take her diaper off! Must keep bloomers on if not clothes at all times!

Madalyn has been busy lately having school friends over to play or going to their houses. She is keeping us on our toes in that department. I guess she is growing up and that is what we should expect. She is such a social butterfly and loves her friends!

Loraly on the other hand is being a typical little sister. She is trying her hardest to keep up, play with, and be right behind Madalyn and her friends.

I remember when I was little doing the same thing to my big sister!

We have counted down, and if I am correct we have 16 school days left until summer!

YEAH...

Happy Birthday Ms. R!

Today is Madalyn's first grade teachers birthday. She came home last night telling me that we had to go get her flowers and make her chocolate covered strawberries---because of course they are Ms. R's favorite!

She we did just that! Of course I had to help Madalyn carry it all in this morning.

I hope Ms. R has a great birthday and a terrific birthday lunch with her Daddy.

Happy Birthday Ms. R!
