Music Camp/ Cousin Camp

The girls started music camp at church tonight. They have looked so forward to this! We can't ride in the car without listening to Son Seekers.
My sister in law had a family emergency to tend to this week and had no one to watch her 3 girls while her husband worked. SOOOOO I reluctantly volunteered. So I put Kiley, who is 5, in music camp with the girls. While they are there I will have the other 3 smaller girls--Sophie (6 months), Trista (4 months), and Paiton (2 years). SO all in all I will be taking care of Madalyn (7), Kiley (5), Loraly (4), Paiton (2), Sophie (6 months), and Trista (4 months)!!!! Please do lots of praying for me this week. This is a lot to take on. I just felt that it was my place to help her out. (my mom RELUCTANTLY has volunteered to help me out a little also!)

On the way home from music camp tonight, Madalyn was reading through her bible study book she got tonight. On one of the pages it was telling them to do a problem and look up Hebrews 10:24 in the bible. But all it said was Hebrews 10:24. As Madalyn was reading through it she suddenly stopped! "Momma, I can't do this one because it says Hebrews 10:24 and that is past my bedtime!"

I bought all 6 of the girls matching 4th of July shirts and plan on taking some pictures of them sometime this week! I will post when I get the courage and energy up for this project!
Have a good week!

Sophie's 6 month Dr. Appointment

Weight= 16.25 pounds
Length= 26.5 inches
She is in the 50-75 percentile for her length, and between 25-50 percentile for her weight.
She did great! Her weight is slowing down but her height is still where it has been since she was born. She has this new head tilt thing she does when she is either playing bashful, flirting with you, or showing off her hair bow! It is precious! She is sitting perfectly, getting on all fours and rocking, sleeping mostly through the night except for one feeding around 4-5 a.m. She went to bible class this week for the first time and they said she did great! I sat in the hall outside her classroom and every time she would cry out, it was so hard for me to not jump up and go grab her! About 15 minutes until the end of class, they called me in there because she was unhappy, but it was also right at her normal bedtime.
So after 5 shots and being woke up to get them, we are home, with Tylenol, 2 bottles of it, for most of the weekend because the last 2 times she has had shots it was not a fun few days!

Has it really been 6 months?!

The last six months have been such a blessing. Sophie has made our family complete in so many ways. She bonds the girls together because they adore her so much. I can't count how many times in a day that baby gets told 'I love you' from them not counting everyone else!
She is the happiest baby! Especially with the 3 sets of ear infections and RSV that she has had to deal with.
She is pretty much a trooper for all of the going we do.
I absolutely adore how much she loves me! If she hears my voice but can't see my face, she will start crying. If she sees me walk in a room, she immediately wants me to hold her!
She is finally in her crib in her room for the most part. I do still put her in bed with Mark and I around 5 in the morning.
She lights up when she sees Madalyn! The look on her face is priceless!
She starts giggling when Loraly starts talking to her! So sweet!
She is sitting up like a pro, scooting everywhere, trying to crawl, getting up on all fours and rocking, and she loves to eat (most) baby food.
I had said before that if I would have had a delivery like Sophie's first time around, there would be no more children, but having such a wonderful baby for the last six months, I would have 10 more! It is amazing how I have completely forgotten all that pain for the wonderful joy of raising this baby!

Check out my Slide Show!

A little slideshow from the beginning of 1st grade to the end!
I LOVE this Cinderella song. I am a big baby--I cry everytime I listen to it!

Recital Outfit Pictures

Today we had dance recital pictures! Madalyn's tap outfit is a penguin. Loraly's ballet is an elephant. Her mommy was not a happy mommy with this one until I saw her in it! She is a rather cute elephant! Her ballet class is dancing to the Dumbo song "Baby Mine" so it should be really sweet! WHY DOES IT TAKE SOOO MANY PICTURES JUST TO GET ONE OR TWO DECENT ONES!? Oh well, they were troopers and we got some rather sweet ones!

We now have a 2nd grader!

First day of 1st grade:Last day of 1st grade:
Not only do I love to see how much my child has changed from the beginning of the year to the end, but I also love to see how much the love has grown between Madalyn and her teacher.

I can't believe that my baby (really my oldest)is now a 2nd grader! She is getting so big! So I went up to her school today around 1 to pick her up early (they were getting out at 2 anyway). I went into the gym to get her and she wasn't ready to go. She wanted to play a little longer! Every other child in that school building was ready to go before they ever got there today---NOT MINE! She wanted to stay longer. So I sat in the hall by the office for about 30 minutes. When I saw her teacher coming to get them from P.E. I headed back to class with them to gather all her belongings and head home. Her teacher told me to hurry because she didn't want to cry. What is it with my daughter and her making her teachers cry on the last day of school?! I guess it is a good thing that they love her so much. She hugged me tight and thanked me for sharing my daughter with her! That was the most thoughtful and wonderful comment I could have received from her because I thanked her for taking such good care, and being an awesome teacher to Madalyn. Madalyn then said goodbye to her good friend, Celeste, who is moving away this summer. They were both sad to tell each other goodbye...

Then I TRIED to take a last day of school picture of Madalyn and Ms. R.

Notice I said tried...

Remember the first day of school when my husband left the camera at home?!

Well, I didn't leave it at home but the battery was dead!!! WHAT IS MY LUCK? So Ms. R said to come back late this afternoon and take the picture because she would be there later. We left upset...only to see a friend coming into the building WITH A CAMERA! I asked her if she minded me borrowing it to take the picture and I told her what happened. She was very kind to let me borrow it! So I will post the pictures as soon I as I receive them from her!

Thanks again Stephanie!

So as we were leaving the classroom for the second time all the kids in Madalyn's class starting chanting SUMMER-----SUMMER----SUMMER----SUMMER (from the beginning of the High School 2 movie)---it was quite cute!

So all evening we have been listening to that song!

HAPPY START TO SUMMER!

1st grade award ceremony!

Madalyn's school had it's 1st grade award ceremony today.
Mom, the girls, and I were going to attend the
ceremony this morning but Loraly and Sophie were
both asleep. SO my sweet mother decided to
stay at my house with the 2 sleeping babies
while I got to attend the ceremony ALONE.
A couple of the other moms in her class asked
me if I felt like I had forgotten my purse
because I am NEVER alone.
It was nice to focus all my attention on just Madalyn.
These moments are few and far between and
definitely not as often as I would like.
After the ceremony I took Madalyn around
the school to give her Art, Music, Computer, P.E., Library,
and Speech teachers their gifts. It is so nice to
hear all the wonderful things all
these teachers have to say about my daughter!
I forgot to tell you about Madalyn's lunch today!
Well, the last week of school the cafeteria
tries to use up food that hasn't been used (I guess).
Today they fed these little children
pancakes, ranch style beans, apple sauce,
and vanilla ice cream! Madalyn thought
it was pretty cool---
two of her favorite foods--ranch style beans and pancakes!
GROSS!
2 more days of first grade and I will have a second grader on my hands!
