WELCOME SPRING BREAK TEXAS STYLE!

This picture was taken before school this Friday morning before Spring Break. It was almost 80 degrees about 2-3 days ago and it is supposed to be 70-75 by mid week next week. No wonder no one can stay well longer than about a week!

Stories about Loraly and Sophie

Loraly has a VERY high pitched voice to say the least. Since Sophie has been born Loraly loves to use her voice and say EXTREMELY loud and squeaky S-OOOO-PHIE. When Sophie was really little it didn't really bother her but as she is more alert now, it breaks her little heart and scares her. She sticks that little lip out and starts crying so sadly! It just breaks my heart. So now any loud noises really upset her.

Loraly on the other hand is in a really weird stage that I have never gone through with Madalyn. She is being really mean to anyone and everyone! She has officially denoted our doctor. She told him his name is Mr. and not Dr. She also told him she didn't like him! More than once...

We were at Walmart one day and I had Sophie in her sling so this sweet older lady decided that I needed help getting Loraly out of the buggy. She tried to grab Loraly and help. Loraly turned to her and told her she didn't like her! I was SOOOOO embarrassed! She tells my dad this, she tells Madalyn this, she even told my niece-Kaitlyn-whom she loves so much, basically whoever does something that she doesn't want done or said---it is really upsetting and embarrassing! I don't know how to make her stop! I have tried spanking, time out, taking stuff away, etc. Nothing works. Any ideas? I really don't think she TRULY means she doesn't like you, I think she uses it as a defense mechanism, but whatever it is I DON'T LIKE IT to say the least. She has always been a very strong spirited little girl but she hurts peoples feelings (Madalyn especially) and tears me up inside when she does this. Hopefully she will get through this stage quickly and very soon!

Snack Time!

Madalyn took a banana to school today for her afternoon snack.

When I put her up I always ask 100 questions and one of them being "was your snack good?" So like always I asked her this particular question----her response-"well...I didn't eat it" of course after this answer I asked "Why?"----she then replied with "it was wiggly..."

How can a banana be wiggly?

I asked her if she threw it away or what and she brought it to me from inside her backpack.

Sure enough--IT WAS WIGGLY!

I assumed that maybe she or someone else accidentally stepped just in the right place on her backpack or maybe she dropped a book just in that spot. The banana had gone bad in the middle and made the rest of it 'wiggly!'

So all night we have been making 'wiggly' jokes.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Now I am sick...

I have this yucky stomach thing---tomorrow is Madalyn's surprise birthday party---am I going to be able to make it through it for her? It kind of hit me this afternoon after having lunch with Madalyn and taking her class zebra cupcakes. I have not gotten off or too far from the couch. Please pray that I can make it through the party feeling REMOTELY ok for my sweet 7 YEAR OLD MADALYN!
