Plus to moving to the Bigger City

SUPER TARGET!!!

I have always wanted to go to a Super Target, but never had the chance UNTIL TODAY! Mark was in his interview so Sophie and I decided to use the navigation to find a close by Target. I tried the navigation yesterday to find a close by Target, got there and it was closed down so I told it to find the next nearest shopping place, and it found a Walmart---CLOSED DOWN also!

My husbands car is a 2005 model, so the navigation is still from 2005. Needs to update that!

Anyway, I drove up to Target, woke Sophie up to go inside, and was SUPER excited when we walked in the doors! I know I get excited over silly, little things---but HELLO it was a Super Target!

Interviews went well, found a few neighborhoods that we wouldn't mind living in, nice people, pretty churches, dance schools for the girls, and some really nice looking elementary schools also!

Now we get to play the wait and see game!

**Update on Loraly's Dr. appt**

Not so good! He said that he is now sending her to an ENT to have her hearing tested and they will also do some sort of scope through her nose, down to her vocal cords to see what is going on! Mark and I are very worried, scared, and sad about even thinking of letting them do this to her. We should hear from the ENT soon for an appt there. Pray that they would at least sedate her for this procedure!

Speech Therapy

When I was in 3rd through 5th grade, I had to attend speech therapy.

But when I was told during Madalyn's kindergarten year, I was devastated that she was going to have to attend. As we went through the first and second years of speech, it was a blessing to have Madalyn attend speech therapy. She is now completely out of speech therapy and you can't even tell she ever had problems.

Loraly has needed speech for quite some time now. I never noticed it because I hear her speak everyday and am used to the way she talks. But when she is talking to others, it gets pointed out to me the troubles she has. So her doctor has informed me for a couple years now that she needed to be tested for speech therapy. I took her last year (when I was pregnant with Sophie) for testing at the local elementary school that does speech therapy for the younger neighborhood children. She wouldn't cooperate (wouldn't talk at all). So the therapist said that it was probably since I was pregnant, things were changing, and we would try again later. She is the same therapist that Madalyn has seen. So we went again today to be tested and Loraly did great! They were in the office alone for like 45 minutes! They came out and asked me to join in. The news when I went back in was not good and very disappointing. She asked me when I had noticed certain aspects of Loraly's speech. Asked several other questions...and then informed me that she thinks Loraly has some sort of vocal cord damage. And wants her tested further at the doctor so she can get a better idea of what needs to happen next.

Kind of scary. We will know more later this week when we see our doctor.

Last First Day, new do, and hip hop

So today was Loraly's last first day of Mother's Day Out. She officially started Pre-K. She, like Madalyn, was very reluctant to go and to have a new teacher. But after meeting her teacher Monday night (she already knew her from me working with her this summer), and after the first day of school, she already loves her! She came home and drew her like a million pictures! Sorry Trisha!

Dance class started back up this week also. We are very sad to see Ms. Meredith not there, but we also know that the other teachers are just as wonderful! So both girls will officially go back Monday, since yesterday was Labor Day, but Madalyn did start her Hip Hop class tonight. It was very precious! The class ages ran from 7 (being Madalyn-the youngest) all the way to 13! They didn't realize that many kids would be interested so they will eventually separate them into a younger and older class. Madalyn came home saying that there were COLLEGE kids in her class! (talking about the bigger 13 year olds) And OMG---their is a boy in her class! She couldn't believe that. She did pretty good, kept up with the dance moves for the most part. The teacher went a little fast but ok. Madalyn said it was fun but hard...

Not so healthy

Update on Sophie: she had a horrible start to today. We were so on our way to the emergency room if things didn't change quickly. Thank God they did! She ran 103.6 until around noon and then it was as if a light switch turned on---her fever was just gone! We were giving her Motrin and Tylenol every 3 hours on the dot and her fever wouldn't budge. She still isn't eating, but is drinking fluids. Hopefully we are over this hump.

Sometimes we will get Rudy's barbecue for a more 'healthy' drive thru meal. The girls will ask for Burger King, Sonic, etc. and we will say that we need to try and eat healthy. SO tonight we decided to get some Rudy's. As we were in the drive thru, Madalyn said to me that Rudy's was not so healthy as we had thought. I proceeded to ask her why she thought this. Her comment was because they serve BEER. I guess she saw a sign, read the menu, or something because we have NEVER bought beer there or anywhere! (we don't even go down that isle at the grocery store!) I told her that she was right, beer was not healthy!

Sophie had been congested for a few days and last night she woke up at midnight with 100 degree temperature. So we gave her Tylenol and went back to sleep. Again she woke at 6 a.m. and had 102.9!!! So of course off to the doctor we go.

Double Ear Infections---check
Upper Respiratory Infection (almost pneumonia)---check, check

I couldn't believe my ears!

This poor baby can't go an entire month without being sick! He said that if her fever goes any higher or she gets limp and lifeless, then to take her to the E.R. And finally they are sending us to an Ears, Nose, and Throat Specialist. So maybe we can get these ears fixed up so she can stay well!

In a stump

I found myself in a stump today...

I have been pretty upbeat, optimistic, and looking forward to "the change" coming soon (hopefully) in our lives. But today it kind of got me. Today was the day that Mark was supposed to be coming home from Florida to spend the weekend with us, when he left last weekend today was the day that we had on our minds.
Today is here.
Mark is here.
But the excitement isn't...Not that I am not thrilled to have Mark here and by my side, but that joy that we were looking so forward to was taken away when we decided to turn down the job, having to look for another job, the stress from that, the keeping Mark in good spirits, etc. I guess it was my turn to hit rock bottom. Mark has done it a couple of times during this process, but I have tried to stay positive and not think into things too much at least for the kids sakes, but also Mark and mine.

I feel lonely today.

By the way, we have 4 job opportunities that are looking promising right now. So please pray that which ever one is meant for us, that it comes through and soon!
