Enjoyful or Stressful Pregnancy?

It seems that certain people have terrific pregnancy experiences and love being pregnant; others have very stressful pregnancies whether it be due to illness, unexpected pregnancy, or other personal situations making their pregnancies stressful. I honestly don't know how I would react to having an uneventful pregnancy. It seems that all three of mine have been quite stressful for whatever reasons.

With Madalyn, we were young, nervous, and had no idea what to expect. She was a planned pregnancy so that was not it. The delivery was stressful also because of a few minor complications.

With Loraly, I was a little older but still nervous and wanted everything to be perfect!

With both of their pregnancies I stressed the entire time because when you don't know what to do or expect you constantly try and do whatever everyone else tells you, because you think that is what is right and what you are supposed to do. You have to understand, I am pretty much a people pleaser---it is EXTREMELY hard for me to tell someone no for whatever reason. Also with both of them I had bad dreams almost nightly that my teeth were either breaking, cracking, falling out, or shattering! Not fun---if you read into what dreams mean, it means that you are stressed out!
I also found this interpretation: teeth - Falling out: Loss of control over certain aspects of one's life. Powerlessness, unable to influence things or the outcome of things important. Loss of self-esteem in a situation or a chronic problem.

With this last pregnancy, I have tried my hardest to be happy, not stressed, and let my girls be involved as much as possible. Mark and I are trying to let the girls have most of the fun and glory with this pregnancy. For instance, we let them pick out most of Sophie's baby items, that is why everything is pink!
We took them to the sonogram to find out if she was a boy or girl!
We let them help paint and decorate her room.

This weekend will be our last weekend with just the 2 older girls! We are trying to do things with JUST them so they will feel extra special before we have a new baby in the house.
We hope, wish, and pray that we could just enjoy these last few days of pregnancy to the fullest. We try our hardest to make our children happy above and beyond anything and anyone; and that should be by far the most important thing!

Beauty Shop with a 4 year old!

As I was in here on the computer, Loraly decided that she wanted to play beauty shop. Fine, I love it when people play with my hair anyway. And I especially love playing beauty shop with the girls because they constantly tell me how beautiful I look! So she starts brushing, putting clippies in it, rubber bands in it, and I here a funny noise! It sounds like scissors! I quickly turn around and luckily it was only one of those little bitty plastic hair bands. She must have read my mind because shortly after this she asks if she could cut my hair!!!

Absolutely not! She just did not understand why she couldn't cut my hair! So instead of playing hair shop, I led her to play in my make up instead! Anything is better than scissors!!!

D-Day-----November 30!

November 30-Our Due Date for Sophie-the day we have been waiting and anticipating for 9 months now!

It is kind of depressing to know that this is almost over.
It is VERY exciting to know that in a few days this will be over!

It is kind of depressing to know that the day is here but there is still no baby.
It is VERY exciting to know that the day is here and I KNOW I will have a baby in a few days!

It is kind of depressing to look around the house and see all kinds of things ready and waiting for a baby and a purpose but nothing to fulfill them.
It is VERY exciting to look around the house and see all kinds of things CLEAN that will probably never look the same once the baby gets here and has to use them daily.

It is kind of depressing to know that this will most likely be the last time that I am sitting here awaiting the arrival of my baby.
It is VERY exciting to think that this will most likely be the last time I am sitting here awaiting the arrival of my baby!

3 is good for me and much less for it to be 3 girls is even more exciting!

WE HAVE A DATE!

Looks like if nothing happens over the weekend, our baby girl will be born on Wednesday, December 5.
Please say a little prayer for us over the weekend and into Wednesday for her to be born safely into this world!

The Last Melon...

Anyone ever watch the movie "Ice Age", the title of this post is a line from that movie that we often use around our house. What it pertains to this time is that I am about to head to my last doctors appointment for this pregnancy. Exciting, nervous, anxious...a few words to describe the way I feel. I am positive that I will be back home in a few hours to post when my inducement will be because we all know that I need the help to get my babies into this world. Wish me luck...

You will be proud though---we put the car seat in the car last night, I finished packing my bag a few minutes ago, and I also packed both of the girls bags. Mark can do his own! I am doing my last load of laundry for the day---I am sure by the weekend there will be plenty more to do. I just like to kid myself and make myself think that they COULD POSSIBLY send me to the hospital---YEAH RIGHT! Honestly Saturday is the birthday we would love for Sophie to have--December 1, mine is December 10, and we already have 2 in November (Mark and Loraly).

I am rambling so I guess I am going to do some last minute things around here before I head to my appointment!

I will find out in a little while when my baby girl will be making her debut! YEAH!!!!

The many faces I get when out in public:

Today while walking around Walmart to check out a few Christmas presents, I got quite a few different faces from people. I especially love it when someone is brave enough to ask when I am due and I say Friday! They look at me quite hilarious!

Last night while refinancing our house, the closing man asked when I was due and I told him Friday, he said well lets hurry this up and if you take a right here at this street and then another left you will be at the hospital.

I scared Mark last night also. While eating out for supper, I told him that there was a lot of pressure going on and he said--you need to stop it because you are scaring me!
Seriously, if I ACTUALLY did go into labor by myself I would probably pass out from shock and have to have an emergency C-section or something!

This is how I feel about this upcoming weeks activities:

3 Stockings, and thoughts on giving birth!

The mantel--the flowers on the wreath are red but for some reason in the picture they turned out kind of maroon, which I don't like!
Yes--I love Mickey and Minnie and have had these figures for quite some time. I just can't bare to part with them. I have quite a few other Mickey Christmas items that I decorate with also.
It is so weird to see 3 stockings hanging from the mantel instead of just 2.

When Madalyn was born I ordered her a personalized stocking from Pottery Barn. It was the only pretty one they had that year. So when Loraly was born, I ordered hers from there also. Hers was cutesy and red with a Christmas tree on it. That year Madalyn was almost 3 years old. Her first comment when I hung them up was that the baby's was bigger than hers! How could it be-it came from the same store-and how could a almost 3 year old notice something so small and insignificant (or so we thought)! So every year since then, Madalyn always points out to us that Loraly's is bigger.

Since we were having another baby girl this year, we figured why not get all new stockings for them to have forever and make them all match so there will be no comparing.
So I ordered these, got them in the mail, LOVE THEM, and yesterday we went out and bought the angel stocking holders. I love the red and I think they are timeless so that we can use them for a very long time.

On a different note:
So thinking about the entire birthing process, I know a lot of people think it is amazing, wonderful, want to video tape it, don't care who watches, and so on. NOT ME! I do think it is amazing and wonderful and that there is nothing else that compares to it in the entire world (at least nothing that I have ever experienced). I love the connection the experience brings upon a man and woman. The feeling and emotions that you get to experience with your soul mate during giving birth is AWESOME!
I can't imagine 'back in the day' when the husbands were not allowed in the room. How scary that must have been for woman to be alone during that and not to get to see the expression on their significant others face.
The tears that came down from Mark's eyes after Madalyn was born---I will never forget! Although all I could think about was that he was crying all over my baby's precious little face! Memories...

I am definitely not one of those people that wants or lets anyone and everyone in the room during delivery. I guess according to some, I may be selfish, but I want to have that experience with my husband and the memories with my husband. I feel that that is why God put Mark and I together--to get to have this awesome, once in a lifetime experience with each other. He is a great husband and father and would not trade this experience for any other in the world! He loves to get to hold that baby first, cut the cord (well, this actually kind of freaks him out), and every time he is always so caring and worried about ME.

His eyes---I love seeing his eyes feel up with tears when he sees that baby for the first time, watching his eyes watching over me, and seeing the love that just beams from them!

5 more days until my due date...probably more like 9 more days until she arrives though.

We can't wait!----I just wanted to get some of my thoughts down before we do this again so I can have something to look forward to because all I keep thinking about is pain, and honestly I am a little frightened.
